Fukushima Radiation And Other Scare Stories Are Going Viral On the Internet. Are They Real Or Fake?

fukushima, radiation, scare, stories, are, going, viral, on, the, internet., are, they, real, or, fake?,
Well it seems as though some of us may just be eating crow right about now. Depends on which source you choose to believe. They, them, those. Ghostwritters, Shills, Trolls. Disinformationalist, call them what you want to. People who don’t want you to know the truth. Sensationalist. The uninformed. This article came to me in a very precarious way and I thought it worthy of consideration since there are plenty of Them out there that would pretty much tell you anything and not even once consider the psychology of the reader themselves nor do any proper research into what they are selling you. According to published reports,
 A few suspect news stories have been making the rounds on the internet in recent days, suggesting that radiation from the Fukushima power plant disaster has hit the West Coast of the United States and is causing major harm to the Pacific Ocean off California. Most pernicious is the report from NaturalNews.com that a scientific study found a significant drop off in sea life in the Pacific Ocean near the U.S. coast.
And a few new recent stories that had just appeared today,

 So just to clarify a few things, These stories are designed to do just what you expect them to do…Scare you!!! Should you trust any of these stories Absolutely Not.
I’ve created a short list of some other suspect stories that you might already be fimillar with;

The fine folks at Deep Sea News — which features writers with academic degrees, actual professional credentials, and expert knowledge — are doing their best to debunk the rumors spreading about Fukushima radiation and its impact on the U.S.
Take the dangers of radiation hitting California. Will it kill you? Are we all going to die? DSN has your answer: “No it will not be dangerous … It’s not even dangerous to swim off the coast of Fukushima.”
If you went swimming in the waters right next to the actual power plant, you would only experience “0.03% of the daily radiation an average Japanese resident receives.”
So I’m thinking everybody in the U.S. will be OK.

Oh and just in case you thought that I haven’t done my homework and researched this a little bit further. I found this article,

Fukushima across the Pacific

This map is from a detailed simulation of the spread of Pacific ocean radiation, and shows the anticipated levels as of Aug. 2013. It looks scary, but the red color indicates that the levels of Cs137 from Fukushima are 10,000 times less than when released in March 2011, while the light blue indicates levels that are less than one-millionth.
Let’s make it clear: the release of radioactive contamination from the Fukushima NPP to the environment — the air, the land, and the ocean — is a massive disaster. There’s no other way to describe it. Radiation in the air spread far and wide, and was even detectable, though barely, on other continents, while radiation in the ocean is spreading more slowly but inexorably. We know that some of the fish caught off Japan have been too contaminated to be sold for human consumption, and that wide expanses of farmland in Japan have been contaminated as well. But what effects can be expected overseas?
Lately there have been quite a few reports of die-offs, dangerously contaminated fish, and other horrors in the Pacific Northwest which have been ascribed to the effects of radioactive contamination in the Pacific ocean from Fukushima. Many people are worried and unsure, others are convinced that these reports are factual, and the stories have found a ready audience, mainly through online media. We’ve addressedand debunked a few of them already. Could it possibly be true that hazardous levels of Fukushima ocean radiation have reached North American Pacific shores? If this hasn’t happened yet, is it likely to happen in the future? The consensus among the many ocean scientists who have been monitoring the phenomenon is that Fukushima radiation is beginning to reach the Pacific coast, the levels will be so low they will only be measurable with extremely sensitive equipment, and that while the risks to people will not be zero, they will be “insignificant.”

Stop Worrying About Fukushima Radiation!

Published on Jan 13, 2014
Since the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster, people have been quick to blame radiation levels across the Pacific on the deteriorating power plant. Is the radiation spreading that far, and is there any way to tell if it’s actually from Japan? Trace explains why even with the best technology, we can’t make Fukushima the culprit. So stop worrying!

“The old saying goes where there’s smoke, there’s fire, but steam is a different story, even in the case of a nuclear power plant that suffered multiple meltdowns. Despite fresh worries about a new meltdown at the Fukushima Daiichi complex in Japan, the steam that set off this concern is merely a result of atmospheric conditions—and a reactor that is still hot from having melted down in 2011.”
