Over the weekend, violence erupted in Charlottesville, Virginia, when white nationalists held a “Unite the Right” rally on the UVA campus. In the days which followed, protests broke out around the country in response, and at one demonstration in Durham, North Carolina, a Confederate statue was destroyed. The culprit was subsequently jailed, and now, President Donald Trump has added insult to injury with just two words.

The incident in Charlottesville ignited a chain of protests in cities across the nation, including one demonstration organized by the Worker’s World Party, a Marxist-Leninist group founded in 1959 as a hard-line offshoot of the more moderate Socialist Workers Party. This protest in North Carolina has garnered the majority of media attention because it was in Durham that 22-year-old activist student Takiyah Thompson helped destroy a historic statue.

Thompson used a ladder to climb atop the nearly century-old statue of a Confederate soldier and place a rope around it, which her cohorts then used to pull the monument to the ground, destroying it. At a news conference the next day, Thompson said, “I did the right thing. Everyone who was there — the people did the right thing. The people will continue to keep making the right choices until every Confederate statue is gone, until white supremacy is gone. That statue is where it belongs. It needs to be in the garbage,” she concluded, according to Daily Caller.

Barcelona suffered a horrendous terror attack in which a Moroccan man has driven a white van into a crowded tourist area known as the Las Ramblas district. This area permits pedestrians to walk in what resembles the middle of the street as cars drive on both sides of the people walking. The area is popular in summer for tourists and residents. The town was ravaged when a van jumped the curb and crashed into people, killing 13 and injuring about 30 people so far. At least ten of the injuries are considered serious, so the sad death toll may rise.

Authorities and emergency services rushed to the scene immediately following the attack, providing care for victims and searching for the attackers. The attackers were rumored to be holed up in a bar or shop, but no one was certain where they were. The attackers were not found until recently when they were arrested just 15 miles from the scene of the terror attack with the white van.

Spanish police have reported that a Moroccan man named Driss Oukabir has been arrested and is in questioning. He has not fully been confirmed as the terrorist, but there are very strong reasons to believe it is him. His brother was also arrested as part of standard procedure during investigations. The younger brother will face questioning in hopes for authorities to retrieve further information on the alleged attacker.

Members of far left groups such as Antifa and Black Lives Matter clashed with members of white nationalist groups over the removal of a General Robert E. Lee statue. Now, these violent leftist terrorist groups have decided to up the destruction in cities across the country, and they promise it will be worse than last weekend.

As much as we’d like to think of politicians as public servants, the days of anyone serving anyone but themselves seems to be passed. We see this displayed very plainly by people like Florida Representative, Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Schultz thought it would be ok to take the law into her own hands and do whatever was best for her, instead of adhering to the strict guidelines put in place to keep American politicians from supporting terrorism and the like.

Schultz thought she could get away with playing fast and loose with cyber security, but she was found out. She immediately attempted to shift blame (something about Trump and Russia, of course) and even just claim that it was a big misunderstanding, even after being caught red-handed. Now though, we have more information about the aide she hired who was suspected of being a security breach in and of himself.

The aide in question, Imran Awan, has officially been indicted and will stand trial for multiple counts of fraud and false statements (aka, he lied to the wrong people in Washington). Schultz will no doubt find a way to get off scott free, but at least Awan might be punished for his crimes.

A Missouri state Senator by the name of Maria Chappelle-Nadal, who is obviously a Democrat, posted a comment in a Facebook conversation Thursday morning saying she hoped President Donald Trump will be assassinated sooner rather than later. Of course, the comment has quickly been removed. But Chappelle-Nadal confirmed that she had indeed written it in response to another comment before deleting it.
As you can clearly see above this State Senator clearly writes, “I hope Trump is assassinated!” in response to another commenter, Christopher Gagne, who said his cousin is serving on President Trump’s Secret Service detail. But like any typical Democrat who gets caught, this hack later tried to deny it by stating that what she had said wasn’t a reference to an assassination, but to an earlier statement made that Vice President Mike Pence will use the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to have Trump removed from office. Yeah, sure it was, especially since she later wrote “No. I will. I hope Trump is assassinated!” in response to Gagne’s reply that he will get a visit from the secret service.
In a later interview, Ms. Chappelle-Nadal stated that her frustration with the president stems from his response to the violent protest clashes in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend. Sure it was, I am sure you loved President Trump up until then. These Democrats must really think we the people are a stupid bunch.
