New Image Of ISON After Perihelion Is It Real?

For all those disappointed that ISON didn’t live up to its hype, rest assured that other comets are inbound from the depths of space. Once every decade or so, a comet worthy of the moniker “Great Comet” appears: one that is identifiable at a glance, even to non-astronomers. Comet Lovejoy in 2011 was deserving of that informal title, as was Comet McNaught in 2007, Hale-Bopp in 1997, and Hyakutake in 1996. When the next one will grace our skies is anyone’s guess, but we’ll be watching.
